Stuart is an expert in retail brokerage and serves as an Executive Vice President and Partner at Colliers (formerly Coldwell Banker Commercial Advisors) in Salt Lake City. With over 35 years of dedication to serving the needs of his clients, Stuart has closed over 1,500 transactions valuing over $1.75 billion. Stuart has created long-standing relationships with his clients and takes the time to understand their needs, set goals, and exceed their expectations upon delivery. Providing accurate, reliable market information, expert negotiation skills, and diligence have continually led local, regional, and national retailers to rely on Stuart’s expertise. 

From Costco and Ross to Victoria’s Secret, Bath Body Works, and Shake Shack, Stuart represents a wide array of clients in the Intermountain Region. Additionally, landlords continuously entrust Stuart to market more than 4.6 million square feet of new and existing retail developments in the Utah, Idaho, Wyoming, and Montana markets. The trust inspired by his dedication to his client’s interests has led to many ongoing relationships where tenants and landlords alike repeatedly turn to Stuart to problem solve, reach goals, and deliver incredible results.  

Stuart has been recognized with various honors including recipient of former Coldwell Banker Commercial’s #1 Retail Agent of the Year award in 2008, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2016, and 2017 as well as being awarded the CCIM Retail Broker of the Year for 2018, 2017, 2016, 2014, 2013, 2012 and finalist in 2011, 2015, and 2019. Continually ranked in the top 2% of the highest performing agents for Colliers in Utah, Stuart has also been one of the top three retail brokers globally for the former Coldwell Banker Commercial for the past two years.   

Stuart is an avid outdoorsman and enjoys all things hunting and fishing. He is a member of the Rocky Mountain Elk Federation, Ducks Unlimited, and Safari Club International. Stuart lives in Sandy, Utah with his wife Carol and they have 4 daughters and 12 grandchildren (9 of which are boys), who they love to spend time with.

Cameron Simonsen

Executive Vice President, Retail & Investment

Cameron Simonsen began his career in commercial real estate in 2002 when he was hired by Prime Commercial to focus on their retail database. In this position, he learned a great deal about the commercial real estate market throughout the Intermountain West. Cameron obtained his real estate license in 2003 and was hired by CBC Advisors in 2005 before joining Colliers International in 2018.

A large portion of Cameron’s business is focused on retail tenant representation. National name retailers and restaurants, such as TJ Maxx, Whole Foods Market, Buffalo Wild Wings, Dave & Buster’s, Marshalls, HomeGoods, Sierra, True Food Kitchen, The Habit Burger Grill, Blaze Pizza, Shoe Dept., Corner Bakery, Hash House and Pei Wei, have relied on Cameron to represent them with their site selection in multiple states.

Cameron also represents developers and investors in leasing many of the top shopping centers throughout the Intermountain West. He has been instrumental in leasing properties owned by prominent landlords such as The Boyer Company, PEG Development, Ball Ventures, Wadsworth Development Group, Howland Partners, City Creek Reserve Inc., Liljenquist Properties and Blue Diamond Capital.

Since Cameron started working in the commercial real estate industry, his primary focus has been retail sales and leasing transactions. To date, Cameron has completed transactions in Utah, Idaho, Wyoming, Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, Nevada and Alaska. His knowledge of markets throughout the West has proven to be invaluable for his clients. Cameron was one of three finalists for the CCIM Retail Broker of the Year in both 2015 and 2017. In addition, Utah Business Magazine named him to their “40 Under 40” list for the State of Utah in 2017.

Lori Coburn

Vice President of Retail

Lori launched her career as a real estate professional in 2000 and was quickly recognized as a rising star among over 100 agents. Her defining characteristics include unmatched attention to detail and a work ethic focused on the highest standards of customer service.

Following her initial launch into the business, Lori joined Prime Commercial (which was later acquired by Coldwell Banker Commercial and then Colliers International).  With an expanded focus that includes being licensed in multiple states, Lori is recognized as a trusted advisor with unparalleled dedication to protecting her clients’ interests. This dedication is evidenced by her uncompromising approach to each client’s unique requirements, with constant accountability and follow-through.

With diversified expertise representing both tenants and landlords, Lori has had the privilege of negotiating significant transactions for Key Bank, Supercuts and Roosters, Top Golf, O’Reilly Auto Parts, and Café Zupas.  Combining the same tenacity developed in representing tenants, Lori is also recognized as a trusted landlord advisor, representing some of the most significant projects in the Intermountain West which includes Trolley Square, Draper Peaks, The School Yard, and The Terrace at Traverse Mountain, to name a few, and representing numerous Landlord’s including Wadsworth Development Group, The Boyer Company, Gardner Batt, and Howland Partners.  

In the last year Lori has joined the TC Retail team at Colliers International and has expanded her business outside of Utah and Idaho into Wyoming and Montana as well.  She has also picked up other national retailers such as Dick’s Sporting Goods, Whole Foods, Denver Mattress, Habit Burger, Blaze Pizza and Original Pancake House.  She continues to grow her knowledge in each of these states and provide excellent customer service to all of her clients.

Brittany Ferris

Retail Specialist

Brittany represents developers and investors in leasing many of the top shopping centers throughout the Intermountain West. From the start of her commercial real estate career in 2015 with the Thain-Cameron Retail Group, she has specialized in retail tenant and landlord representation. Licensed in 2016, Brittany worked for CBC Advisors before joining Colliers International in 2018.

Brittany has represented both national and local tenants including Shoe Dept., Eureka! Restaurants, Real Taqueria and several others, assisting in site selection and lease negotiations.  She works with prominent landlords including City Creek Reserve, Wadsworth Development Group, Ball Ventures, Liljenquist Properties, The Boyer Company, Blue Diamond Capital and PEG Development. 

For Brittany, commercial real estate is an opportunity to shape her community landscape and its development. She appreciates the local investment and vision inherent to real estate and takes pride in seeing her completed projects in the community. Brittany is detail-oriented and people-centric; she loves working with partners to create, implement, and achieve their goals.

Brittany is a Texas native and moved to Salt Lake City, Utah with her husband in 2015. They have two children, a boy and a girl, who continually motivate her to be an example of determination and integrity. Brittany loves being outside surrounded by friends and family–but if you really want to see her in her element, meet her on the softball field with a glove, bat, and a ball.

Brittany Ferris began her commercial real estate career when she obtained her real estate license in 2016 and joined Cameron Simonsen and the Thain-Cameron Retail Group atCBC Advisors. Previously, Brittany served as the receptionist and front desk coordinator at CBC Advisors. Brittany takes great care in meeting the needs of her clients and exceeding their expectations. Exceptional organization and management skills make Brittany a contributing asset to her team. She coordinates with the internal mapping, data, and graphics department to provide clients with the most accurate promotional materials and information. Since partnering with Cameron, Brittany has represented tenants including TJ Maxx, Marshalls, HomeGoods, Sierra Trading Post, Gordmans, Buffalo Wild Wings, Dave & Busters, Shoe Dept., Nekter Juice Bar, The Habit Burger Grill, Paradise Bakery/Panera, Blaze Pizza, and Dress Barn. She works with Cameron in leasing many of the top shopping centers throughout the Intermountain West with prominent Landlords such as City Creek Reserve, Wadsworth Development Group, Ball Ventures, Liljenquist Properties, The Boyer Company,Blue Diamond Capital, Howland Partners, TerraForm Companies, PEG Development,The Woodmont Company, and Terramerica Corporation.

McCall Alder

Retail Specialist & Financial Analyst

McCall Longson Alder joined the Thain-Cameron Retail Group in 2017 and focuses on retail leasing, financial analysis, and investment sales. Over the years, McCall has found her niche within the team and enjoys working with tenants and landlords on a daily basis to efficiently increase the viability of a shopping center with new concepts and tenants. Some of her tasks include working with tenants regularly, Updating and tracking pertinent information on our tenants and shopping centers, searching for new clients and concepts, and performing financial analysis on potential investments. McCall takes pride in her ability to stay organized and work effectively and efficiently. Over the past few years, McCall has played a key role in the successful placement of over $20 million in 1031 exchange funds. Additionally, she continues to work with landlords with some of the State’s top shopping centers and is currently listing 2 million square feet of new and existing retail developments along the Wasatch Front.  

McCall is a responsible, ethical, hard worker and is passionate about what she does, especially when it involves working with people and numbers. McCall holds a Bachelors Degree in Accounting and a Masters in Real Estate Development, both from the University of Utah. Her unique background in accounting and real estate gives her the competitive edge to approach her job at a unique angle. Prior to joining TC Retail, McCall worked for the Eccles School at the University of Utah as an ambassador, this allowed her to travel to meet top business executives around the world. She also spent a few years working with a boutique marketing and merchandising real estate company analyzing data to figure out the perfect tenant mix for any shopping center. McCall has taken numerous financial modeling & excel courses and is proficient in both.  McCall is passionate about real estate and international business and hopes to be able to continually learn in every capacity she can to better serve her clients. 

McCall is an active member of the International Council of Shopping Center and the Ivory-Boyer Real Estate Center’s Womens Council. She is a Utah native and loves to spend her time in the mountains and traveling to explore new places. McCall lives with her husband in Millcreek, UT and enjoys spending time with her family and friends.

Laila Brown

Client Support Coordinator

Laila Brown began her career in commercial real estate in 2018 as a brokerage assistant at a small firm. She joined TC Retail Group in July 2019 and is the newest member of our team.  She is excited to learn from and grow with the team and they are equally excited to have her on their team. Her role includes assisting Stuart Thain and McCall Alder with daily tasks, prospecting new tenants, coordinating and creating marketing materials, and organizing and managing the team overall. 

Laila is personable, smart, creative, and very organized.  She recently obtained a Utah Real Estate License and is enjoying playing a more integral role in negotiating deals. One of her largest tasks is managing the sales listings of numerous excess properties for Maverik, a Utah-based gas station & convenience store company. Laila also spends her time exploring and researching the newest up & coming food concepts and working to get them into the Utah market.  Laila is from St. George, Utah and her knowledge of St. George and surrounding markets has enhanced our team’s ability to perform in the Southwest quadrant of the state. 

In her spare time, you can find Laila running after her 2 rambunctious kids (5 year old boy and 10 year old girl), spending time with family and friends, or searching Salt Lake’s food scene for the best desserts.
